By continuously monitoring Internet conditions and the performance of a customer's various mirrored sites, Performance Based Traffic Management maintains a complete, up-to-date map of the best routes around Internet outages, congestion, and other content roadblocks. When Performance Based Traffic Management makes a request to the origin site, Performance Based Traffic Management knows which mirrored site is optimally suited to serve the request and instantly directs the request to that site.

Unlike hardware-based solutions, Performance Based Traffic Management uses trend analysis of real-time data - including packet loss and latency to continuously refresh its map. This comprehensive data gathering and analysis distinguishes Performance Based Traffic Management from other similar services. Performance Based Traffic Management is able to detect and react quickly to sudden Internet outages and failures, so that requests are always directed along the optimal route.

Mirror Failover
In this mode, Mirror Failover continuously monitors the health of both a primary data center and a secondary data center and directs Speed Edge Suite requests for the origin site to the primary data center. When Mirror Failover detects that the primary data center is unavailable, it will instantaneously fail over to the secondary data center and direct Speed Edge Suite requests to that site. Once the primary data center is available again, Mirror Failover feature starts directing requests to the primary data center.
